One JPG, PNG or WebP image, up to 20 MB and 1 MPHow to Use the AI Image Sharpener
Choose an image
Choose or drop one JPG, PNG or WebP image up to 20 MB and 1 megapixel.
Choose a finish
Start with Auto, switch to Portrait or Text if useful, then select AI Enhance & Upscale 2×.
Check and download
Drag the before/after divider, inspect important edges and text, then choose PNG, JPG or WebP and download.
Choose settings for your image
Auto uses an estimate of edges and noise as a starting point. Portrait and Text are fixed presets; inspect the result before keeping it.
| Input image | Start with | Inspect the result |
|---|---|---|
| Slightly soft photo | Use Auto, then raise Sharpness a little if needed. | Check hair, edges and shadows for halos or added grain. |
| Portrait | Try Portrait for a softer finish; adjust Noise reduction if skin looks grainy. | Compare eyes, hair and skin; lower the sliders if details look artificial. |
| Text or graphic | Try Text to emphasize letter edges; lower Sharpness if letters develop halos. | Read small text and inspect straight edges; AI may alter letter shapes. |
What does 2× mean?
The exported image doubles both width and height, so it has four times as many pixels. The model estimates new pixels; detail lost to severe blur or a tiny source cannot be recovered accurately.
Choose the download format
PNG or WebP can keep source transparency; JPG fills transparent areas with white. After changing a slider, process again before downloading. Check the exported image and file size: 2× does not mean a smaller file.
If the image looks wrong or processing fails
- Halos, grain or distorted text
- Lower Sharpness and Detail clarity, raise Noise reduction moderately, then process again. If text is still wrong, use a clearer source; do not rely on the result to read critical information.
- Image is rejected
- Choose only JPG, PNG or WebP up to 20 MB and 1,048,576 pixels. Use Image Resizer to reduce the input dimensions before retrying.
- Model load or memory fails
- The first run needs internet access to load the library and model. Check your connection, close other tabs or try a smaller image. The browser may use WebGPU or fall back to WASM; processing time depends on your device.
Where is the image processed?
Your selected image is read, processed by the model and exported in your browser; this flow does not send the image to an KitoTool processing API. The page downloads the public library and model from external services, usually caches them for later use, and still sends general page analytics.
