How to convert temperature in 3 steps
Choose the field for your known unit
Use the Celsius, Fahrenheit or Kelvin field as your input. Enter a value in one field.
Type a number or choose a preset
Type the temperature to convert. You can also select a preset below a field to check a reference value.
Read the other two fields
The other two equivalent values update as you type. Check the formulas or reference table below if needed.
Reference points and precision
The two result fields are rounded to at most two decimal places. Keep the source field if you need its original precision; use the table below to check three reference points.
| °C | °F | K |
|---|---|---|
| 0 | 32 | 273.15 |
| 37 | 98.6 | 310.15 |
| 100 | 212 | 373.15 |
If the result is unexpected
- Other fields are empty
- Check the active field: an empty or invalid value clears the other results. Enter a number and use a dot for decimals.
- Value below absolute zero
- A temperature below −273.15 °C, −459.67 °F or 0 K is not physically valid; the tool shows an error and does not produce a result.
- Unexpected decimal places
- The two result fields are rounded. For calculations needing higher precision, use the formulas and keep extra digits until the final step.
Where is your input processed?
The calculation runs with JavaScript in your browser tab. This page does not send temperatures to a conversion API; reopen it and enter a value to calculate again.
