The links assume the icons sit beside your HTML page. Edit each href if you upload them elsewhere.
Make a favicon in 3 steps
Choose a source image
Use one PNG, JPG, WebP or SVG image up to 20 MB. The center is cropped to a square before resizing; a simple mark is easier to inspect at 16 px.
Check the small previews
Inspect 16, 32 and 48 px. If text or fine lines disappear, choose a simpler icon and try again.
Download and add it to your site
The ZIP contains favicon.ico, PNGs and an HTML snippet. Upload the files beside your page or update the href paths, then paste the links into <head>.
What the ZIP contains and what to check
Files in the download
The ZIP contains 16, 32, 48, 64, 128, 180, 192 and 512 px PNGs; favicon.ico contains 16, 32 and 48 px images. The 180 px file is named apple-touch-icon.png. An SVG input is rasterized; no vector SVG is exported.
Add to your site and check
The HTML snippet references files in the ZIP. After uploading, check the browser tab and bookmark; if Google Search does not show the favicon, make sure the file URL is crawlable and the image represents your site. Google does not guarantee display.
Google Search favicon guidanceIf the favicon looks unclear
- The logo is cropped
- Use a square source or add space around the logo, then choose it again. The tool crops the center of a rectangle.
- Text disappears at 16 px
- Remove fine detail, increase contrast and prefer a simple mark over a full wordmark.
- The image will not open
- Try another PNG or JPG. An SVG with external resources or an image format your browser cannot decode may fail.
Where is the image processed?
Your image is read, cropped and packed into a ZIP in the browser; its contents are not sent to KitoTool servers for this task.
