How to edit a PDF
Choose PDF
Choose one PDF up to 60 MB and 100 pages. Use thumbnails to find the page you need.
Place content on the page
Choose Add text, Image, Draw, Highlight or Signature, then place it on the page. Select an object to move, resize or undo it.
Review and download
Review edited pages, choose Export Edited PDF, then open the download to check it.
Choose an edit for the result you need
Each tool places new content over a PDF page. Choose the action that fits your result, then check the exported file.
| You need to | Use | Check the result |
|---|---|---|
| Add details or an image | Add text or Image | Check placement, text size and images on each downloaded page. |
| Mark content for review | Draw, Highlight or Shape | Check strokes, opacity and the marked area. |
| Place a drawn signature | Signature | The signature is a drawing on the page, not a certificate-based digital signature. |
| Replace the visible text on a PDF with a text layer | Edit text | Read the note in the editor before export; the tool does not reflow a whole paragraph. |
Review the downloaded PDF
- Count the pages and reopen edited pages. The tool keeps the source pages; thumbnails help you find pages with edits.
- Inspect text, accented characters, images, highlights and overlay positions at a useful zoom level. If the background or font mismatches, return to the source PDF and adjust the placement.
- If the source PDF has interactive forms or digital signatures, check those features again in the exported file before using it.
- If you need to edit source content as a Word document, use PDF to Word for text-layer PDFs; this annotated PDF still contains its original content structure.
If editing or export fails
- Password-protected or damaged PDF
- Open the file in another PDF reader. If it needs a password, unlock it with permission and choose it again.
- Large PDFs are slow
- Close other tabs and try a device with more memory; a PDF within the 60 MB and 100-page limits may still exceed your device’s capacity.
How your file is handled
The PDF is read and exported in your browser; this editing flow does not send it to an KitoTool conversion API. A connection is needed to load PDF libraries; reloading the page clears your current edits and temporary download link.
